Welcome from the Head of Department
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. As one of the world-leading institutions in both the teaching and research of chemical engineering and technology, our aim is to have and to nurture the best students, staff, and environment.
We have been consistently rated among the best institutions in the world for chemical engineering by QS Rankings and Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and rate highly for student satisfaction in the National Student Surveys.
Alongside our excellent teaching and research, we’re proud of the positive work culture we’ve developed in the department. Our values include excellence in all we do, pride in our department and our achievements, and caring for all members of our community. In recognition of our good practice towards the advancement of gender equality, we’ve received an Athena SWAN Silver Award in 2009, 2014 and again in 2018.
